WHAT IS WHEATGRASS?

Wheatgrass, which is made up of the newly sprouted leaves of the common wheat plant (Triticum aestivum), has been increasingly popular in recent years. The majority of people drink it as a juice, taking a 1 to 2-ounce shot on its alone or mixing it into a smoothie or juice.

Most health food and supermarket stores sell it as a powdered supplement or as a supplement. Wheatgrass is low in calories but high in nutrients, such as glutathione, vitamin C, and vitamin E, as well as antioxidants.

Antioxidants, found in wheatgrass, help the body combat free radicals, lowering oxidative stress and guard against diseases. [1]. Wheatgrass juice is renowned for its bioflavonoid concentration, which are naturally occurring antioxidants that are responsible for many of its clinical benefits, including the management of inflammatory bowel disease and as a general detoxifier.

Wheatgrass juice's high chlorophyll content is its most notable attribute. Chlorophyll has been found to repair or act as a substitute for haemoglobin in haemoglobin deficient disorders [2].
