TThe amino acids glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid combine to form glutathione. It's made by the liver and is engaged in a variety of bodily functions. Glutathione is involved in tissue growth and repair, as well as the production of chemicals and proteins that the body requires. It also plays a role in immune system function.
Glutathione is used to treat ageing, alcoholism, liver illness, heart disease, and a variety of other ailments. The body doesn't seem to be able to absorb glutathione from food very well. Certain foods heavy in sulphur containing amino acids, on the other hand, may help enhance your levels. These are some of them: Garlic and unprocessed meat, broccoli, asparagus, avocados, spinach, etc.
As a person gets older, their glutathione supply appears to decline. Lower glutathione levels appear to be linked to a decline in health. Lower levels, for example, may play a role in a variety of illnesses that are more likely to develop in the elderly [1].
